Find Your Own Bandwagon!

"They're losers."..."Now we're in the championship game!" "Championship? Hmm...Woo! 'Topes Rule!"

This quote comes from the episode "Wild Barts Can't be Broken" after Homer walks in to Moe's to find the local loser baseball team the Isotopes in the championship game where he athletically jumps on the bandwagon.

The website Grantland.com is filled with humorous columns mainly dealing with sports and popular culture. They usually have a feature called the YouTube Hall of Fame. This week, guess what it was? The best moments from the Simpsons. This leads me to ask myself in my best Church Lady voice, Well, I wonder where they could have gotten that idea? They said it was from the 500th episode that aired last Sunday, but I know better. It sounds suspiciously like my last four blog posts. This can mean one and only one thing. This website has jumped on my bandwagon! Do you know what this means? I'll finally be more popular in the United States than Slovenia! Maybe I can be as popular as fellow bandwagon-inspiring figures as Tim Tebow or Jeremy Lin! In this day and age of flash-in-the-pan heroes and instant celebrities, this is my ticket to a bunch of overused and easy jokes on Letterman, The Soup, and Saturday Night Live!

All silliness aside, I love every single moment they talk about. Especially the Sideshow Bob stepping on the rakes. I would like to add my opinion of the picture that is at the top of the page and in the same episode where Homer becomes Popeye and rides a donkey to save Marge at the demolition derby. The picture above makes me laugh uncontrollably every time I see it. Honestly, it kills me.

Remember, those of you who have been with me from the beginning, you can brag about it on Internet forums and you're not just jumping on my quick-moving bandwagon.

Time and a Half

"Ugh, I'm bad at this."

This quote comes from Groundskeeper Willie in the Treehouse of Horror V episode from the sixth season. This is the third time he's come to rescue the Simpsons, only to be hacked in the back with an axe. For the third time.

So, yes, I will say that I'm bad at this whole writing of the blog thing, even though I just graduated and only have a part-time job at the moment so I have nothing else to do but job hunt, write, and watch movies. I will say as an excuse that my wife got me some really awesome Christmas presents that I have been enjoying thoroughly for the past two months and I have begun to write something a little longer than blog posts to fulfill my desire to reach out creatively. That being said, however, I will try to do better.
